Welcome to our New Beginnings! We are so excited to see what God is going to do in our lives and the lives of the precious children we will get to minister to.
We have just recently returned from our exploration/vision trip to Honduras. While we were in country God gave us the answers to so many questions that we had about this new ministry.
We prayed for months for answers–and He gave them in his time.
One of our biggest questions was where in Honduras? We literally had no clue. Ben and I had sat down with maps pulled up on our laptops and just started going through cities in Honduras. Our eyes were wide open because we had never traveled to the part of Honduras that we were looking at on the maps. We kept praying for God to give us direction. For some reason only known to God, we kept going back to the city of Gracias. A city in the mountains. A city that is a 4 hour ride mostly through the mountains after you land at San Pedro Sula airport. A city that is one of the oldest in Honduras and reminds us of Texas in so many ways. (Which is a good thing–some of our best memories come from our time in Texas.)
While we were in Gracias on our trip, God made it clear to all of us that this was our place to do his work. We can’t wait to get on the ground, go to language school and start the work he is preparing us to do.
But that is part of the process–the preparation and the wait! God knows that these next few months will grow our faith in the ways that we need him to. That with out these months of preparation we will not be the missionaries he needs us to be.
So what are some of our immediate steps to getting this ministry off the ground?
- We have begun the process to obtain our non-profit 501(c) 3 status. We are praying with potential board members.
- We have begun the task of raising support. Praying for the individuals/churches that God will lead to join us in his work.
- Putting together our prayer partners because we know that God listens to those who seek him and ask in his will for great and mighty things to be accomplished.
- Raising money to buy land and build the 1st home our New Beginnings children’s village
